Motorcyclist seriously injured in Mapleton Crash

The operator of a motorcycle was rushed by air ambulance to a trauma centre following a collision with a sedan in Mapleton Township.

57-year-old Patrick Burke of Hillsburgh was seriously injured in the collision on April 6th at about 1:50 p.m on Wellington Road 12 at the Fourth Line of Mapleton Township.

A 65-year-old Kitchener resident was uninjured and has been charged with Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm. They will appear in the Ontario Provincial Court on July 15, 2020, to answer to the charge.

Investigators allege an eastbound sedan and a westbound motorcycle collided when the driver of a sedan attempted to make a left-hand turn in front of a motorcycle, and the Wellington County OPP along with OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate the collision.

Wellington County OPP, paramedics and Wellesley Fire Department responded to the serious crash.
