Help for youth through tough times

The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced many new challenges to society, and that includes the mental health of people.

Wes For Youth Online's Treasurer of the Board, Michael Best, says they continue to offer critical youth mental health services during a unique and challenging time.

"They have full access and followed by a mental health councillor who is liscenced," said Best. "We've seen a significant increase in our enrollment numbers. Last month alone was 59."

Best notes that all of the youth that use their service are self referrals, meaning they don't need a doctor's referral to use Wes For Youth Online.

Any youth who want to register can do so 24/7 on wesforyouthonline.ca.

Best also welcomed the province's announcement of $12 million in new mental health funding last week, which will help not-for-profits like Wes For Youth Online.

If you're able, you can donate to Wes For Youth on the organization's website.
