Saugeen Shores police confronted by man with knife

Police officers in Saugeen Shores were confronted by a man with a knife.

Just before 5pm on Friday, officers were called to a residence in Saugeen Shores concerning unknown trouble.

An officer arrived on scene, and was confronted by an adult man brandishing a knife.

The male began to approach the officer, who then unholstered his gun in an attempt to arrest the man.

A second officer arrived on scene and parked his cruiser in between the man and officer to create a barrier.

The first officer used his Taser to disarm the man, and they were able to safely take him into custody.

A 33 year old man with no fixed address has been charged with; assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with a probation order.

The male was not injured as a result, but was transported to the hospital to be seen by a physician.
