Bruce County Economic Task Force to support local business

A new Bruce County Economic Task Force will work to help businesses across Bruce County cope with reduced hours, staffing challenges, and closed doors.

The task force said it hopes to help stabilize the economy as businesses do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“I know this is an extraordinarily difficult time," Bruce County Warden Mitch Twolan said to Bruce County’s business community. "I know you are concerned for your livelihood, for your families – I am concerned, too. The Economic Task Force, led by Kara Van Myall, Director of Planning and Development and Bruce County’s team of economic development professionals, is hard at work to help you navigate this crisis."

The task force is made up of economic development professionals, business owners, local stakeholders, and municipal staff to support businesses and guide Bruce County to a thriving economy once again.

A monthly survey for all business owners in Bruce County will help the task force develop direct supports to help businesses and advocate other levels of government to meet the urgent needs of the business community.

Bruce County is also expanding current supports to local businesses such as a resource database to help business owners navigate the extensive, ever-changing information and support around COVID-19.

Online business seminars will share options and information during the evolving situation and there will be free consultations with staff by phone, email or video chat.

All business owners are encouraged to complete the monthly survey and access support at: brucecounty.on.ca/economictaskforce.
