Information continues to evolve in around COVID-19

As the week begins, information continues to evolve across the Midwestern Ontario region, Ontario and Canada.

A total of three cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Midwestern Ontario.

A couple, both 58-years old, were the lastest cases confirmed by the Grey Bruce Health Unit on Sunday. On Saturday, a case was confirmed in Stratford by Huron Perth Public Health. The Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health Unit has not confirmed any cases at this time.

According to the Ontario government website that tracks cases, there are 145 across the province.

Provincial officials are asking hospitals to cancel all non-emergency procedures as they prepare for an influx of COVID-19 patients.

The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario has closed all service locations until April 6 due to the impacts of COVID-19. And the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Coporation is moving ahead with a plan to close all casinos as a precaution.

Late Sunday, Canada's Medical Officer of Health stated that COVID-19 poses a serious health risk to all Canadians. Dr. Theresa Tam continued to advise against travel outside of Canada, continued self-isolation for 14 days if returning from a trip and social distancing.

There are many cancellations and postponements across the area. You can click here for more information.
