Saugeen Shores makes statement, monitoring COVID-19

Town of Saugeen Shores staff are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Ontario.

Currently, the Grey Bruce Health Unit has stated there have not been any cases in the Grey Bruce region.

Town staff and council have emergency preparedness plans in place and are adjusting internal practices as a precaution.

At this time, municipal services are unaffected, however, these are being continually reassessed as the virus progresses.

The town is following recommendations from local and provincial medical officers of health and encourages the public to practise good hygiene as a preventative measure.

“The health of our citizens is a top priority for Council and staff,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “We will continue to monitor the situation locally with the help of our regional partners and have in place emergency processes to address this type of developing situation.”

The public can stay up to date with news from our municipality on the Town’s website: SaugeenShores.ca/News.
