Driver flees parking lot crash scene in Meaford

Police in Meaford are looking for suspects after a parked car was struck by another vehicle, causing it to roll from a parking lot onto the roadway.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday shortly after 7:47 p.m., the white car was parked in the parking lot of Dairy Queen at Sykes Street North.  The owner was alerted shortly after that their vehicle had been pushed onto the street and was sitting in the middle of the eastbound lane of Sykes Street North.

Police were called and after obtaining surveillance video from a nearby business, discovered that the car had been struck by a blue truck, which forced the car to roll onto the road.

The suspect vehicle is described as a blue Ford F150 extended cab or a vehicle similar to it.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
