In what's become a new year's trend, Grey Bruce Farmers' Week kicks off in Elmwood on Friday.
The week-long event focuses on a different commodity each day with speakers and presentations. The week is put on by Grey Bruce Agricultural Services. Coordinator Lorie Smith said farmers themselves have input on topics discussed. She said this year they noticed a trend.
"And this year the trend was, we need to speak more about mental health in agriculture so we have three presentations, one on Dairy Day, one of Crops Day and one on Sheep Day focussing on mental health in agriculture," said Smith.
She said they focus on issues important to the overall farm community.
"We have topics that are relevant to the producers and my goal is, every day I want them to take at least two pieces back home and implement on their farm and if I've done that, we've had a successful day."
As well as presentations, Grey Bruce Farmers' Week is a trade show with more than 100 exhibitors over the seven days.
