UPDATE: Driver airlifted with life-threatening injuries after Blyth crash

A motorist has been airlifted to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Blyth.

Officers from the Huron County OPP Detachment responded to the two-vehicle collision on Thursday at around 2:20 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed a compact vehicle was travelling westbound on Blyth Road (Huron County Road 25) when it entered the intersection and was struck by a delivery truck that was travelling northbound on London Road (Huron County Road 4).

The lone occupant of the compact was taken to Clinton hospital and stabilized for air transport, then taken to Seaforth hospital helipad for air medivac.   The driver of the commercial delivery truck was not injured.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement Team are assisting with the investigation.
