Some Huron and Perth residents not receiving mail from Canada Post

Residents in the Monkton area have not had any mail delivery from Canada Post for over a week.

Annalee Horst adds that when she went into Mitchell to pick up her mail nothing had been sorted since November 6.

She explained that is having a serious impact on her business.

"Well as a small business owner, we rely almost entirely on our income to come through the mail, and well as bills from customers," she added.

She said the Mitchell Post Office hopes to start sorting and delivering the backlog on Saturday.

She worried that "even to not receive your mail for a week and a half, then finally have it delivered. But when are we going to get our mail next?"

Residents have been told they do not have a delivery driver right now due to illness.

Residents living at Rural Route #1 Brucefield are also complaining they do not have a mail delivery person, and are not receiving mail.

In Facebook message, CKNX news was told that another Huron County resident near Brucefield was also affected by similar delivery service disruption.

CKNX has reached out to a Canada Post official, and local MP Ben Lobb for comment but no calls have been returned.
