Crashes increase in Stratford with the arrival of snow

Stratford police say many motorists are sliding into winter without adjusting their driving.

The snowy winter-like weather has resulted in 34 crashes between November 7 and November 12.

Most of the collisions are happening during the morning commute from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the City of Stratford. Thankfully only two of the crashes resulted in injuries.

Police are encouraging everyone to keep road safety in mind as they travel and drive appropriately for the conditions.

Slower speeds can keep motorists from sliding off the road, and make it easier to make an unexpected stop. Snow tires help with traction and stopping.
