Huron County's Warden says everything is on schedule for the amalgamation of the Huron and Perth Health Units. Jim Ginn brought councillors up to date at this week's council meeting. Ginn says there's still lots of work to do.
“They are county employees and they have to be transferred over to the new health unit, so that'll take place on the first of January and it is a lot of information that has to be shared, for sure. But I believe we will make the target date,” he explained.
Ginn adds, told employees what the plan was very early in the process and continued to keep them up to date as it moved forward and he believes that helped eliminate a lot of the stress and uncertainty that could have resulted from the amalgamation.
Ginn adds it's quite possible the Huron County employees will continue to work out of the existing Huron County Health Unit building if the new health unit chooses to buy the building.
