Huron East gets $20,000 grant for Digital Main Street program

The municipality of Huron East has received a $20,000 grant from the province for its Digital Main Street Program.

Huron East Economic Development Officer Jan Hawley said the grant has allowed them to hire a digital specialist.

"She is reaching out to business owners and sitting down with them to help them maybe heighten and improve their web site, their social media presence," she said. "There's also an opportunity for those business owners to apply for a $2,500 grant that would help with purchasing equipment, maybe a new laptop, employing someone to come in and improve that presence."

Huron East is hosting a wine and cheese event this Friday at 5 p.m. the Seaforth Golf Course to launch the program.
