Compass Minerals busing cost program very successful

Huron County’s Cultural Services Director says the response to a Compass Minerals Bus program has been overwhelming.

Beth Rumble said Compass Minerals announced a program back in August that would cover the transportation costs of busing students to the Huron County Museum and Historic Gaol.

Rumble said they started getting responses to the program as soon as they announced it, and that indicated that transportation cost truly had been a barrier in the past.

“When we first started to put out information that this would be happening, we were getting a lot of responses, so we set a date for when people could apply for the program and we filled up within 48 hours,” she said. “We had gone through all of that funding with the interest from local schools.”

Rumble said it’s encouraging that the Compass Minerals program is bringing those students back to the Museum and Gaol.
