There was a slight drop in the unemployment rate last month in the Stratford-to-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region.

The Four County Labour Market Planning Board reports a drop of 0.1 percentage point, to 4.2 per cent. That’s still the lowest unemployment rate in the province.

The provincial unemployment rate also saw a slight decrease to 5.8 per cent.

Overall employment in the region increased by 1,000, with full-time losses offset by part-time gains.

The number of goods-producing sector employees increased by 400 in the Perth-Huron-Bruce-Grey region. Employment in the services-producing sector increased by 600.

These gains were offset by losses in educational services, and accommodation and food services.
