Beavercrest school property to be expanded
October 2, 2019 3:36pmThe Bluewater District School Board hopes to expand the Beavercrest Community School property in Markdale.
The Board wants to purchase about one and a half acres of adjacent land to create a safe construction zone for a new 236 pupil school.
Funding for the new building was approved at the beginning of the year.
$6.4 million will be used for a new school with additional funding of $2.1 million will be used to create two childcare rooms and two EarlyON rooms at the same location.
Staff will move forward with the project by procuring the property, design considerations and timelines when an Approval to Proceed is received.
