Drive-thru workers help get alleged impaired driver off the road

Employees working a drive-thru in Goderich helped police take an alleged impaired driver off the road.

Huron OPP said officers were called around 11 p.m. on Sunday about a possible impaired driver.

The driver was trying to order food from a restaurant drive-thru. Officers immediately responded and were able to track the vehicle down on Picton Street.

Police suspected the man was impaired by a drug and arrested him. He as taken to the Huron OPP detachment for evaluation by a drug recognition expert and police said they found the man was allegedly under the influence.

A 50-year-old man from Lucknow is facing an impaired operation charge and two counts of driving under suspension. He is due in court on October 21.
