Virtual School in Bayfield expands math program

The Virtual High School in Bayfield has expanded its elementary math program.

It started as a program just for students in Grades 7 and 8, however, Coordinator Rebecca Merner said the revised program is geared towards all elementary students.

"We have a completely new look and feel, more geared to elementary students and a lot more opportunities for practice, engaging media, videos and that kind of thing that really appeals to young learners," said Merner.

She said it's possible for a student to complete their courses in 12 months, but their courses offer the flexibility for a student to work at their own pace.

"We have a base of students that are home-schooled, so students might take courses with us all over the world. We are following the Ontario curriculum, so we do follow what students would do in a traditional bricks and mortar school in Ontario. But there are lots of different reasons that students might take courses with us," added Merner.

The new courses are now available and students can get more information and enrol on the Virtual High School or Virtual Elementary School website.
