There is no word on what caused a fire at a landfill in North Huron on Thursday.
North Huron fire crews were out in full force after getting the call early Thursday afternoon. Smoke was pouring out of a section of the landfill on Reid Rod near Wingham when fire crews arrived. Firefighters stayed on scene until late in the day to make sure the fire did not spread.
The fire was contained and eventually extinguished.
