Emergency crews responded to a plane crash on Conestogo Lake in Mapleton Township.
On Tuesday at around 10:50 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police along with Mapleton Fire/Rescue and Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services were called the scene.
The two occupants of the plane, which was described as a home-built amphibious airplane, managed to escape the plane with some assistance and make it to shore.
The 71-year-old pilot and 61-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Joint Rescue Coordinated Centre and the Transportation Safety Board were notified and continue to investigate the crash.
