Counterfeit suspect arrested in Owen Sound

Police in Owen Sound have made an arrest in connection with a number of counterfeit $100 bills that were circulating in the area in the last week.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old Owen Sound man Wednesday evening.

He’s been charged with several counts of distributing and possessing counterfeit money, as well as fraud, theft and breach of his probation order.¬† He’s scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on Thursday.

Police caution local businesses that there may still be some of the counterfeit $100 bills circulating in the area.

The bills that have been seized have identical serial numbers (EKR2223601) and a blue stamp on the back of the bill.
