Saugeen Shores police revive opioid overdose victim

A Saugeen Shores police officer used a dose of Naloxone to revive a man from an opioid overdose at the Tim Horton’s drive-through.

Police officers were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision near the Canadian Tire Gas Bar about 8 a.m. on Sunday.

A man operating the car fell unconscious in the drive-through, and the vehicle accelerated down a hill and stopped on a boulevard at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar.

The unresponsive driver eventually regained consciousness and paramedics transported him to hospital.

Officers attended the hospital and charged a 34-year-old Port Elgin man with Operation while impaired by drugs.
