Officers with the Owen Sound Police Service had a tough time with a couple of allegedly-intoxicated women early Wednesday morning.

Around 2:45 a.m., an officer was alerted by a motorist about a group of people standing at a vehicle, arguing about who would drive.

Police located the vehicle in the 400 block of 8th Street East and found a woman in the driver’s seat.

A second woman was nearby and began pushing and screaming at officers.   Despite numerous warnings, the woman continued to intervene between the officers and the female in the vehicle.
She was placed under arrest for obstructing a peace officer and transported to Owen Sound Police Service.

The woman seated in the vehicle was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance and returned to Owen Sound Police Service for breath tests.  Once at the station, she refused to provide breath samples to a qualified technician.

An additional charge of failing to provide samples of her breath was laid against the 28-year-old Georgian Bluffs woman.  The vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
