Saugeen Shores moving ahead with Fanshawe College partnership

Town of Saugeen Shores Committee of Whole has recommended for council’s approval that a facility rental agreement be signed with Fanshawe College.

The agreement would give the college regular use of classroom space in the Southampton Fire Hall and waive the facility rental fee for the first year of operation.

Both the town and Fanshawe College want to see the launch of an accelerated Business Entrepreneurship and Management Diploma program, beginning this September.

The college would use livestream technology to give students in Saugeen Shores the same learning experience as students in other locations.

"We’re pleased by the possibility of hosting a post-secondary institution in Saugeen Shores," said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. "This program, in particular, is exciting for our community, and the partnership with Fanshawe College aligns with the town’s Economic Development Strategic Plan."
