Milverton Business wins FedEx contest

A local resident is celebrating a silver prize in the FedEx Express Canada Small Business Grant Contest in Canada.

Virginia Ehrlich operate an online shop called Acre75.ca based in Milverton

She welcomes the $15,000 cash prize plus a brand marketing workshop

Her website sells handcrafted goods from small Canadian towns.

She said, " I can't even begin to describe the impact this grant is going to have on my little online store (that I run from my basement spare bedroom turned office!). I started this business with a passion for supporting Canadian makers while honouring my small town upbringing. I wanted to make it easier to support local while shopping online."

The winner, Wabanaki Maple, will receive a $30,000 CAD grant, plus a meeting with FedEx Express Canada President, Lisa Lisson, and a brand marketing workshop ($10,000 CAD estimated value).

An Owen Sound company, Yes Crickets, was one of over 8 business receiving $5,000 grants. FedEx awards $100,000 in cash and prizes to top ten winners.
