Four charged for selling illicit Cannabidiol products in Midwestern Ontario

Police in Saugeen, Owen Sound and Hanover have executed a search warrant as part of an investigation into illicit CBD products being sold in three locations.

Police said illicit Cannabidiol (CBD) products were being sold without the required licensing from businesses in Port Elgin, Owen Sound and Hanover.

About $30,000 in illicit CBD products and around $7,400.00 in funds were seized in total.

As a result of the investigation, two men and two women were arrested and are facing charges. All four were released with a future court date.

The Cannabis Act regulates both the production and sale of CBD. CBD can legally be purchased and sold from properly licensed entities including the Ontario Cannabis Store.
