OPP identify victim of fatal boating incident

Grey Bruce OPP officers have identified a man who was found dead in the water in Colpoys Bay following a boating incident.

Tyson Denning, 26, from East Garafraxa Township was one of four occupants on a 16-foot vessel that sunk June 7 at around 10:30 pm.

Denning was found in the water hours after residents heard calls for help coming from the bay, and several local boaters responded, to find three men in the water.

OPP and paramedics also arrived at the scene. Two men, 19 and 22 years of age, had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance for cold water exposure.

OPP search and recovery teams located the body of the missing fourth occupant early the next morning.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Christopher Solomon, 39, from the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation with impaired operation of a vessel causing death.

Grey Bruce OPP officers, Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit, OPP USRU and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue to investigate the incident.
