West Grey Police officer helped save a man's life

A Grey County paramedic and a West Grey police officer were both honoured this week for saving the life of a man in Ayton.

On March 1, 2019 at around 6 p.m., Sergeant Jeremy White found a man in a pick-up truck on Grey Road 3 in Ayton who had no vital signs.

Sgt. White performed CPR on the man and called for assistance. West Grey firefighters along with Grey County paramedics were quick to arrive and assist Wilmer.

Grey County paramedic Melissa Kaufman and police Sergeant Jeremy White were both presented with awards for their hard work and team effort. The quick response helped James Wilmer survive a heart attack.
