Mission Zimbabwe 2019 Team returns

The Hanover-based Mission Zimbabwe 2019 team has returned from Zimbabwe.

This was the 13th consecutive year that a team based out of Hope Community Church in Hanover travelled to the Village of Hope in southern Africa.

They assisted with building projects at the village and the surrounding area. They also helped with a daycare and feeding program for hundreds of children, put on a teen program, helped at a medical clinic, and took part in a fundraiser to feed the children in an orphanage.

The team was able to leave a large number of donated items such as medical supplies, tools, sports equipment, quilts, sheets, and children’s clothing. Most of the items were donated by residents of Grey-Bruce.

Team members were from Hanover, Chesley, Brockton, Meaford, and Goderich.

"The workers and the children at the Village of Hope have been truly encouraged to know that people here in Canada care for them and want them to know that they are a very important part of their lives," said Team Leader Barry Mutrie.
