The first humid day of the year, and threatening skies, didn't stop the race fans from celebrating the opening of the 2019 season at Clinton Raceway.
The afternoon race card of 9 live harness races Sunday kicked off at 1:30 and hosted Central Huron Secondary School and their track side fundraiser for their Change Day.
The event, one of the 15 scheduled in the Day at the Races program for 2019 raised over $3000 for the high school.
The nine race card handle topped the $42,000 mark, making it the best opening day in recent years.
Live harness racing continues at the 1/2 mile Huron County Oval next Sunday, May, 26 at 1:30pm all event details can be found at www.clintonraceway.com.
