Wellington County firefighters had a busy Thursday.
Shortly after 6 a.m., Wellington North Fire responded to an industrial property in Mount Forest at Dana Incorporated on Industrial Road.
A cardboard compactor caught fire. Damage is estimated at $15,000 to $20,000.
Two hours later, Centre Wellington Fire responded to a grass fire on a rural property south of Arthur. That blaze burned almost 30,000 square feet of land, which was caused by sparks from a burning brush pile on the property.
There were no injuries as a result of either fire.
Property owners are reminded to be aware of the weather, especially high winds, when burning brush.
