3 Arrested for trafficking of fentanyl and methamphetamine

A Joint forces police operation into the trafficking of fentanyl and methamphetamine in Grey and Bruce Counties has resulted in 3 arrests.

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police, Owen Sound Police Service, Saugeen Shores Police Service, West Grey Police Service, and the Hanover Police Service commenced the investigation in March.

On May 2nd, police arrested 3 people after a traffic stop of a motor vehicle was conducted in the 200 block of 8th Street in the Town of Hanover at 7:45 pm.

Investigating officers arrested a 34-year-old female from Hanover and a 29-year-old male from Saugeen Shores. A third suspect, a 36-year-old male from Saugeen Shores escaped custody and fled the scene on foot with officers in pursuit. This suspect was apprehended and taken into custody a few blocks from the scene, after a brief struggle.

At 9 p.m. last evening, the investigating officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 500 Block of 10th Avenue in Hanover.

Officers seized approximately four grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and oxycodone valued at $375 along with supporting evidence related to drug trafficking and break-in instruments.

The three suspects were held in police custody for a bail hearing in Walkerton.
