Mission Zimbabwe 2019 Team heads for South Africa

Nine local volunteers have left for Zimbabwe.

The Mission Zimbabwe team began their trip to the Village of Hope in southern Africa on Friday.

For the next two weeks, the volunteers will be working at the Village of Hope and also a rural orphanage. They will be supporting the workers and house mothers, organizing a community Vacation Bible School, providing assistance at the medical clinic, helping with renovations, and interacting with the children.

They are also bringing with them items such as school supplies, children’s clothing, bedding and medical supplies.

Village of Hope provides education and healthcare to children in need as well as a place to live for those who have nowhere else to go.

This is the 13th team, sponsored by Hope Community Church in Hanover, to travel to Zimbabwe. Team members are from Hanover, Chesley, Brockton, Meaford, and Goderich.  They will return on May 22.

Team updates from Zimbabwe can be followed on the Mission Zimbabwe website at www.missionzimbabwe.org or on the Mission Zimbabwe Facebook page.
