Spring clean up suggested on Earth Day

Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is encouraging everyone to celebrate Earth Day.

From signing up to plant trees in your community, to picking up litter with your friends, or even just turning off the lights, there are many sustainable actions that can be made.

Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority Conservation Educator Denise Iszczuk said Earth Day comes at the perfect time of year.

"There are a lot of things that start to be revealed when the snow is gone," said Iszczuk. "If everyone can take a moment and even just clean up their own yard or combine with a few friends and clean up, everyone can benefit from that."

Iszczuk said that volunteering to clean up the community has many benefits for the volunteer and to the environment.  She said every act, big or small, makes a difference.
