Ed Broadbent to speak in Owen Sound

Ed Broadbent is coming to Owen Sound.

He will be the guest speaker at the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound NDP candidate nomination meeting on Saturday, April 13 at the Harmony Centre in Owen Sound.

Broadbent was the leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada from 1975 to 1989. He represented an Oshawa-area riding through seven straight elections, keeping his seat until he resigned in December 1989.

The political scientist remains as chair of the Broadbent Institute, a policy think tank.

Doors to the Harmony Centre open at 1:30 p.m. and Broadbent will take the stage after the candidate confirmation, which begins at 2 p.m.  Only members can vote, but the general public is invited to hear Broadbent.

The Harmony Centre is on 4th Avenue East in Owen Sound.
