Saugeen Shores police warn motorists to watch for pedestrians

Saugeen Shores police plan to focus on school zones as the weather warms up.

Police said motorists need to adjust as the warmer seasons bring increased pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

Last year, officers completed 257 directed patrols to monitor the flow of traffic in school zones.

Officers will be watching areas of concern such as stop signs, disobeying crossing guards and School Bus controls, and distracted driving.

Police want to ensure the safe movement of students walking to school, other pedestrians and motorists.

This targeted initiative will run between April 3 and April 24.
