Thieves target trucks in midwestern Ontario

Thieves stole two pick up trucks in midwestern Ontario over the past few days.

Perth County OPP officers say a grey 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, was stolen on March 21 from a rural property in the Municipality of West Perth. The owner had left the keys within the vehicle.

The pickup was recovered on March 22, 2019, in the City of London.

And Grey County OPP officers were called to a break enter and theft of a pickup truck from a residence on Grey Road 18 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs on Monday.

Police say thieves forcibly entered the home on Grey road 18 and took the keys to a pickup truck parked in the driveway.

The brown, 2008 GMC Sierra pick-up truck is a four-door crew cab with a short box, chrome side window visors and a chrome bug deflector on the hood. It has Ontario licence plate number 8529ZT

OPP are reminding residents that leaving your keys in your vehicle is an open invitation to the resourceful thief. Stop theft before it occurs.
