Green Party candidate for Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding

A Grey County woman has announced her intention to run for the Green Party of Canada in the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding.

Danielle Valiquette was elected to Grey Highlands municipal council in 2018, and sits on the Grey Highlands Library Board and the Grey Highlands Community Development Advisory Committee.

She's a former business analyst with a background in Information Technology. She's also an active member of the community and regularly volunteers at the elementary school, including with the nutrition program.

Valiquette, her husband and three children live on a horse farm outside of Ceylon.

"I never expected to run in this election," said Valiquette. "I truly enjoy serving as a councillor but with the retirement of Larry Miller, and the tremendous growth seen by the Green Party of Canada, there is an opportunity for a strong voice to lead the Green Party to a victory in Bruce Grey Owen Sound. I think I can be that voice."
