Guns and drugs seized in Chatsworth

Police have recovered over $4,000 worth of guns and drugs during a search of a home on Grey Road 25 in the Township of Chatsworth.

The Ontario Provincial Police seized two unrestricted rifles, 710 rounds of assorted ammunition and three prohibited 223 calibre magazines. Police also seized 22.2 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.

A 36-year old from the Municipality of West Grey and a 42-year of from Hanover were arrested at the scene and charged with firearms and drug-related offences.

Charges include unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, possession of a weapon contrary to an order and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) - Grey-Bruce & Huron-Perth, executed a search warrant March 14, as a result of an ongoing criminal investigation.
