St. Marys Memorial Hospital lab closes to walk in patients

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is implementing temporary laboratory adjustments at all of its sites to help address retirements and recruitment challenges.

Community laboratory services at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Site being closed effective March 18, 2019, until further notice. This closure affects “walk-in patients” -- those individuals who are not inpatients or registered to a hospital clinic or the emergency department.

The alliance said the move will help ensure timely and appropriate support to patients in our emergency departments, inpatient units and registered clinics.

The Laboratory Departments at HPHA’s Clinton Public Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital and Stratford General Hospital remain open for community patients.

Lab Hours: -Clinton Public Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. -Seaforth Community Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. -Stratford General Hospital: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Alternate laboratories for community patient specimen collection include  LifeLabs with locations in Stratford and Listowel, and Dynacare Laboratories and Health Services Centre with locations in Stratford, Seaforth and Goderich
