UPDATE: Kincardine fire causes $1.3M in damage

Damage is pegged at $1.3 million after a fire broke out in a building in downtown Kincardine.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office remained at the scene of the fire on Tuesday, after the fire burned through the upper floors of a building on Queen Street on Monday.

Investigator Clive Hubbard said, at this point, the fire is not suspicious in nature.

"We've isolated the area that we think is the point of origin, and we're continuing our investigation from that point forward," he explained.

The two businesses on the ground floor, West Shore and Becker's Shoes, were released to the insurance companies on Tuesday.

A cause has not been determined at this point and fire officials are still making sure that the parts of the building, including the roof, are structurally sound.

Hubbard said he hopes to be able to wrap up the investigation by Wednesday.
