Perth County municipalities have been awarded a grant to take action on climate change.

The funding of $110,400 comes from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

North Perth, West Perth, Perth East, Perth South, the County of Perth, City of Stratford and Town of St. Marys are among 58 communities across Canada benefitting from this initiative.

The money will be used to hire a climate change coordinator for a two-year period. The responsibility of the coordinator will be the development and implementation of greenhouse gas emission reduction plans.

The reduction of those emissions through this initiative will help reduce the impact of climate change in the communities.
