The Executive Director of the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation says she believes Thursday's Lake Huron Municipal Forum was the best one so far.
It was the third municipal conference hosted by the centre and features presentations on topics like coastal wetlands, coastal forests and river mouths. The forum was again held at the Beach Street Restaurant in Goderich, appropriately situated on the shore of Lake Huron.
Erinn Lawrie said the forum has grown each year
"We had eleven municipalities with us today and three shoreline counties and four conservation authorities and we also had representation from all of the shoreline First Nations and Metis communities," said Lawrie. "I think this year is really important because we have our newly-elected municipal officials as well, so there are actually a lot of new faces in the room today, so this is a really great launching point I think for us to draw on partnerships along the shoreline.”
