Avon Maitland's My Academy performs in Stratford tonight

A group of Avon Maitland District School Board students will wrap up their unique experience in the My Academy Stratford program.

The show will highlight the skill set of AMDSB students who have had the opportunity to enrich their existing high school programming.

My Academy utilizes professionals, equipment and facilities from the Stratford Festival to offer students a chance to study acting, musical theatre, technical theatre and lighting, sound, and costumes.

The board said registration is now open for a second semester of the program in Goderich.

Tonight's free show starts at 7 p.m. at the Studio Theatre, located at 34 George Street, East, in Stratford.

“The My Academy program provides a wonderful opportunity for our students to embrace the arts and be immersed in a world-renowned theatre experience," said Superintendent of Education Jodie Baker. "We are so thrilled to have the opportunity to offer this unique program in the Goderich area, as well. The My Academy Huron program runs from February 26 - April 12, and we encourage interested students to register right away!”

The program is available to students from Grades 7 to 12. Students wishing to get involved can go on the website to register at myacademy.yourschools.ca.
