Inquest into death at Compass Minerals on hold

The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services has temporarily adjourned an inquest in the death of a contractor at Compass Minerals mine in Goderich.

Darcy Clancy of Chepstow died in an incident at the salt mine March 18, 2017.

The inquest into the 36-year-old's death began November 13 of 2018, but a notice from Dr. David Eden, regional supervising coroner for inquests, said the inquest has been adjourned.

An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act, and more information is expected when the probe resumes.
