Entrepreneurs can use new Huron County concierge

Huron County's director of economic development updated members of the Economic Development Board on the implementation of the Growing Success strategy at their last meeting.

Cody Joudry said a working group has been formed to develop an action plan for each of the seven recommendations.

Joudry said one of the recommendations is really an enhancement of something that already exists within the Economic Development staff which helps business people, investors and developers who are looking at a project use Huron Economic Development staff to guide them through the development process.

Joudry added much of the economic development work they do involves the expansion of existing businesses within the county and he points out those business people, as well, are not necessarily familiar with the process.

“So they're not necessarily well versed in the process and requirements. So this is about making their life easier, but also the staff's life easier so that there's basically someone to help them navigate and communicate back and forth," said Joudry.

Joudry added that anyone who is familiar and comfortable with the process is free to proceed on their own, but he feels making the enhanced service available will be helpful in speeding up the development process.

"The premise there is when business people, investors, developers have something in mind, they utilize Huron County Economic Development staff to walk them through some of that development process," he said.
