Morris-Turnberry Administrator Announces Retirement

The Municipality of Morris-Turnberry is losing a dedicated leader.

Council has announced that Administrator Clerk-Treasurer Nancy Michie has submitted her Notice of Retirement from her position for 2019.

Her 40-year career with the municipality started in September 1978 as clerk for the Township of Morris. She became clerk-treasurer in 1981.

In 2001, at the time of amalgamation with the Township of Morris and the Township of Turnberry, she assumed the position as administrator clerk-treasurer.

" Our long serving Administrator-Clerk-Treasurer Nancy Michie will reach a prestigious milestone this fall of 40 years of dedicated service to our Municipality of Morris-Turnberry," says Mayor Paul Gowing. "Nancy has loyally served our municipal government over that time in many roles and through the changing structure of amalgamation.  Nancy will continue to transfer the extensive knowledge she has acquired from these years of experience to staff over the next few months and help aid with the transition of her many responsibilities, ahead of her retirement in 2019."

The municipality will start a recruitment process for Michie’s successor in the next few weeks.
