Four Injured When Plane Flips At Tobermory Airport

Four people suffered minor injuries when a plane slid sideways off the end of the runway at Tobermory Airport and came to rest on its roof.

Bruce Peninsula OPP responded to a plane crash at the airport on Warner Bay Rd. just before 8pm on Canada Day.

The Piper Warrior was attempting to take off from the Tobermory Airport when the pilot, a 50-year-old man from Kitchener, made the decision to abort the take-off.

Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene.

There were four people in the plane, and all four sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by EMS.

The plane sustained significant damage as a result of the flipover.

The plane had a flight plan to fly from Tobermory to Kitchener/Waterloo Airport.
