Blaze Battled At Tim Hortons in Mitchell

No injuries are reported following a fire at the Tim Hortons in Mitchell.

Firefighters from the West Perth Fire Department were called to the restaurant on Huron Rd around 1pm Saturday.

West Perth Fire Chief Bill Hunter confirmed via Twitter that there was heavy smoke in the building, though crews were able to bring the flames under control quickly.

Firefighters were later checking the building for extensions, with the fire declared out around 4pm.

People were asked to avoid the area.

It is not known when the restaurant will be reopened since cleanup and repairs need to take place.

A cause and damage estimate have not been determined.
