Three-Year Climate Change Study Planned

Bruce Power will partner with the Council of the Great Lakes Region to conduct a climate change study over the next three years.

"When we look at climate change broadly in the Great Lakes region, there's still a lot we don't know," said Mark Fisher, president and CEO with the Council of the Great Lakes Region. "And for the size of the region and it's importance economically, I think what we're going to try to do through this study is to better understand how climate change is impacting the Great Lakes region."

The study will also look at the impact of a changing climate on various ecosystems.

"I think when you look at the research and the science that's been done in the Great Lakes region, there really has never been a perspective on the state of climate change science or where we see a particular trend," said Fisher.

Bruce Power Vice-President of Corporate Affairs & Environment James Scognack said the data will assist Bruce Power in placing additional focus on their role as a clean provider of energy to tackle climate change.
